okaay, so just wondering what do you guys think about thiss? have any of you had to deal with the same sort of thinng? cause I think it's crazzzy.

okay so one of my best friends lizzie is pretty thin. she's not a stick but she's deffenitly in no way fat. she's probably even a littler thinner than average.  however, her parents are both really tiny.  it's not lizzie's fault it's just the way she's built and i think she's perfect the way she iss. but her fuccking mom is soo nuuutsss! like her moms wicked sweet except when it comes to lizzie's weight. for the past four years i'm not kidding, she will constantly tell liz she's fat.  since 7th grade she has made her go on "diets."  one of the worst things is they have made her drop some of her friends because they weren't in the best shappe! they'd say things like, "if you hung around with friends who were really focused on exercising, maybe you'd be in better shape." first of all, she is good shape.  she can run 5 miles no sweat.  also, she should be able to hang out with anyone she wants to! i just feel so bad for her because they are constantly mad at her and putting her down.  they have caused her to be soo obsessed with her body that it's all she ever thinks or talks about.  also, right now she got her computer taken away, not because of grades, not because she did something bad, but because she's not "in good shape."

ahhah sorry that was lonnnng!
what do you guuys thinnnk? cause I think it's so ridiculous.

i had a friend like that, but not to that extreme.
have you talked to her about it? if she thinks her parents are over the top? and what she thinks of her body?

yeahh and she knows shes not fat because me and alll our other friends tell her she's not all the time, but because of her parents its so engraved in her head that she is. like no matter how many times we tell her shes perfect it's always in the back of her mind that she's huge

parents like that annoy me so much, partly because my mom is like that even though i'm not fatt. i'm average. but all she ever says is YOU NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT YOU NEED TO LOOK SKINNIER. and i'm like................ so yeah my state of mind has become like that, and i'm obsessed about my body. and it' just really annoying. but now it's like that age where i'm just so fed up with it that literally if she ever calls me fat or tells me to lose weight i just talk back to her and call her fat too cause she is. she's definitely not skinny so i don't understand what makes her want to tell me to be skinny so i just talk back to her.

and then, thank god, my brothers are on my side especially my brother eisa. anytime they're home from college and the topic comes up like if someone makes a comment, eisa's always there. like it happened at dinner one time and my mom was like "if she starts exercising and eating better blah blah she'll get better" and eisa's like "get better at what? she's perfectly fine" and he just completely blew up at her and trashed her and i know she felt a little bit guilty about it, not so much that she stops.

but yeah..... like idk what to tell you because i know my friends know about my mom and they honestly can't do anything about it. you can't change her mindset and the only thing i'm waiting for is going to college and leavingg.

AHh I hate that... two of my friends' parents (they're sisters) are always like that.. they've even made joking comments to me because I'm a little thinner than they are. And of course neither of them are fat. Whenever they make a comment like that I get really uncomfortable and kind of upset/mad at them for it... but the only thing you can do is be supportive of your friend: let her vent, reassure her, and all that stuff. It sounds like it's not your friend's fault and her parents should suck it
fhakfshal I'm sorry you have to deal with that- I get how annoying it is

i hope her mom's got some good insurance to cover the expenses when she inevitably requires inpatient treatment for an ED. like, no matter how supportive you guys are, if that mom keeps freaking out like that, your friend is going to be fuucked up in the head.

seconded.

Her mum is certainly going the right way to go towards causing a mental illness that kills!! A mum should be someone who loves their daughter no matter what and not comment on weight at an age where EDs are extremely common.

My mum was horrible to me after uni about the weight i'd gained, despite all my friends saying i looked way better for it :/

I think that's so wrong, no matter what a person looks like; fat, skinny, whatever. There's a way for a parent to set forth healthy eating and exercise habits for the family, but to constantly put down your kid is just screwed up. All I can tell you is try to reassure your friend and be there for her, but to be honest if her mother doesn't change your friend will still always to some extent feel fat, despite what she truly is.
