Okay so I didn't read any of this conversation yet because I was reading that book and I know you guys will probably hate me for this buuut I didn't really like it.
I felt like it was too good to be true for the most part.. I liked the ending and the third part though. Weird, I know.
Finally the movie has been released across the pond... I never read the book, I went to get it out the library before the movie was even out in the states, so no one here knew about it so i thought the book would be there. Said it was but wasnt where it should have been so i didnt bother... Though actually i read the notebook and the lucky one and I didnt like his writing style, i found them so difficult to get into.
Sorry this may be long - SPOILERS! (even though you've probs all seen it months ago) Anyway I saw it last night and because of you guys saying it wasnt all that great, i wasnt expected much but because i loved the trailer and channing tatum i thought id give it ago... because of this, for me it was much better than expected. I thought it was cute, very unrealistic with the love story yes but it was just a nice movie you dont have to think about a whole lot while watching. It was the parts with his dad that really got me though - i was in floods of tears every time he was around - like saying good bye to john the first time and the thought of him being alone (it could be something to do with the fact my dad's dad survived the war then died afterwards when my dad was 7 and it made me think what it must have been like for him) and also the fact that family being lonely and dying does happen so is more realistic which got to me. But yeah not a fantastic movie, ending really annoyed me dunno why... but i'd probably buy it to see it again - just to stare at channing tatum's hotness :P
