i haven't seen it, but kayla sounds right its like the notebook. i actually just read the book last month, after watching the movie tons of times. and i like the book better. the movie does a good job of showing summer love but the book gets more into when Allie visits Noah after all those years. nicholas sparks' writing style will always do better then any movie (ex b: a walk to remember, the movie is cheesy).

I dont know why but i really couldnt get into the Notebook book.... The movie was good but i never was one of those girls who was like omg the notebook was soooo amazing i cried so much blahblahblah. Maybe i'll try watching it again some time.
Dear John still isnt out... hopefully seeing as i never got round to getting the book out the library it wont be a disappointment as the trailer looks so good.

I am def not a big fan of the notebook either. it's too unreal for me.
I am however a BIG a walk to remember fan :))
but the best chick flick hands down is 10 things i hate about you.
Heath Ledger AND Joseph Gordon Levitt :)

ahh i definitely saw dear john the other night, it was so precious! like there was this one moment where literally every female in the theatre just busted out crying. i liked the movie ending better but the only thing i hate, like you guys said, they can't portray sparks' writing so i was likewk jerkjgnjwrn like the opening scene it just went by really quickly and so did their whole falling in love thing. it seemed a bit unreal about how they went so quickly through it.

they seem to do that with the notebook too: in the book it wasn't about the summer they fell in love, it was about after. and the movie spent more then half of it on the summer. while in dear john: most of the book was about falling in love and they breezed through that in the movie.
but i was pretty pleased with the movie. they mixed things together but all in all, it had all the important things.
and i agree with what you said about channing being to beautiful to be crying. i only teared up when he was reading the letter to his dad. it clearly hit home for me.
ANDDDDDD if any of you have read The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks....it's being released as a movie on April 2nd. I'm extremely mad because Miley Cyrus plays Ronnie. She's such a bad actress and can't play a tough girl role. They make her seem soft in the movie.

i dont get why he wrote that for miley. he was asked if he had anything "lying around" but i personally think he shouldnt have wrote this for her. and it makes me even madder that miley's music is going to be in it.
