+ Chapter One

Britney White hand cranked her window shut as her black hair slapped her face uncontrollably. She was sitting in the passenger seat of her best friend's ride, on their way to a party in the middle of nowhere. Houses appeared as blur as the beat up Honda Civic sped down the road, going close to sixty on a twenty five street.
"Jesus Jack, drive fast enough?" Britney smirked, crossing her legs and then uncrossing them again.
Jack Goodman ran a hand through his perfectly shaped hair, "Girl, you better calm your asss before I leave you on the side of the street where you belong,"
Shaking her head trying not to let the giggle escape she was holding, Britney turned the volume down on the radio. "This party better be fun tonight for it being so effing far away." she sighed pressing her forehead against the glass window.
"Uh! You're not even driving so why are you complaining?"
"Um because this might be twenty minutes in my life I will never get back." She puffed her cheeks out and blew against the glass leaving a streak behind. "There better be good beer."
"I'd watch yourself, remember who you hooked up with last week? Dammn that boy was ugly." Jack reached over and turned the song. Stupid Sh!t by Girlicious came roaring through the stereo, he put his fists in the air and bobbed his head dramatically.
Britney craned her neck to look at him, "Ya, what the hell Jack? I thought we made a pact not to let each other hook up with ugly guys? I stopped you from hooking up with that muscle head from Lincoln."
Pausing for close to ten seconds at a stop sign Jack looked at her, "You pissed me off. I told you to wear that outfit I picked out and you didn't." he clucked his tongue disapprovingly.
"Seriously Jack??"Britney said laughing. "I hate you sometimes."
Rows of cars ran down the side of the road, and a house on the corner was completely lit up. "I all ready see a possible hook-up!" Jack said pointing to a cheer sticker with the name Christian written in the middle. "From experience, I know that male cheerleaders are good in bed." he wiggled his eyebrows.
"That's just sad you even saw that," Britney shook her head. "And just for last week, I hope he's straight."
Jack stuck his tongue out, "Boo you whore," he paused to sigh. "I wish Les could have come out tonight," he pouted as he parked on the side. As he pulled the key out of the ignition he hesitated before throwing the door open. "I want to settle down, you know? Leslie and Steven are so cute."
Buttoning her shirt up farther Britney glanced at Jack, "Do you want to get hurt?" she said lifting her eyebrows. "Don't get me wrong I love Leslie and Steven, but eventually something will go wrong."
"I forgot who I was talking to, Miss. Anti-Love," Jack rolled his eyes getting out of the car, ending the convesation.
Kicking the door open, she followed him out towards the house. "Jack look, you know I'll support you no matter what,"
Grabbing hold of her hand he pressed it against her chest, "Brit, let's just drop it, okay?" he raised it and pressed his soft lips against her knuckles. "We'll get sh!t faced, hook-up with hot boys, and wake-up sleeping next to each other tonight. Sound good?"
Britney stopped for a second, "Okay," she winked. Bumping her hip against his, she raised a fist in the air. "Cheers to best friends!"
"CHEERS!"
